Because I wasn’t getting enough Teflon using metal spatulas on my nonstick pans, now I can eat it by the spoonful. Teflon! The mystery flour that adds zero calories.

When it comes to solid polymers that are intentionally manufactured in micro form to begin with, that is a type that which may very well be a significant source of environmental microplastics more so than the breakdown of typical plastic consumer products.

There's already Miralax which is an undigestible powdered polymer laxative so every bit of it being made does not disappear any time soon once it's job is done.

PTFE, as the daddy of all forever compounds, in powder form is not going to break down in the environment naturally at all by comparison, intentionally powderizing it is simply the factory process of producing micro-forever-plastic.
